Hi, I am a full time Mandarin teacher working at a public school in Australia. Here are some resources I created about ten years ago to teach colour names to different primary year levels. After testing and editing many times, I'm ready to share this resource with the wider Mandarin teaching community.

Differentiation is the key and the language learning journey consists of a lot of repetition and gradual extension. I don't really do a lot of colouring in my language program, but when we do it, we make sure it is all relevant.

There are three word lists in this bundle. I use -

• word list 1 with prep children (5 years old)
• word list 2 with Year 1 & 2 students
• word list 3 with middle and upper primary students

I use the worksheets contained in this bundle as follows -

• Prep - Brown bear
• Year 1 - Hua Hu Die (make sure students sitting next to each other get different ones and hence there are 5 different versions:)
• Year 2 - crayons
• Year 3 - vehicles & missing strokes
