This map skills unit has everything you need to teach your class about maps. It goes over map vocabulary, different types of maps, and how to read maps. It also comes with a map project where students will get to create and make their own map. This social studies resource includes a lesson in PowerPoint and Google Slides, student note pages, worksheets, vocabulary cards, posters and an assessment.

Lesson:
This resource has a PowerPoint lesson or a Google Slides version, depending on what your school uses. The lesson also includes 5 editable templates for you to add to the lesson. You can move slides in any order, delete slides you don't need, and add slides to give more information to your students. Adapt the lesson to fit your needs and the needs of your students!
Notes Page
Student note pages are included to keep your students focused on the lesson and to help connect their learning as they are seeing, hearing, and writing the information down about maps. If your students do not need the notes page, then simply delete the note slides in the lesson and it will still fit your classroom needs.
Vocabulary Cards
This unit includes 22 vocabulary cards and 5 posters you can display and hang up in your classroom. The posters are available in color and black and white.
