- Lesson 1 - Lucky Leprechauns: Students are leprechauns for the day. They get a "pot of gold" to start. They count the gold they are starting with and search around the room for another set of gold that will make their total amount 5 or 10 (teacher choice). They'll use either the gold pieces that are included or your choice of math tools, and represent their work on a recording sheet with pictures and/or numbers.

They count the bones they are starting with and look for another set of bones that will make their total amount 5 or 10 (teacher choice). They can use the bone pieces that have been included in this resource or your choice of math tools, and represent their work on a recording sheet with pictures and/or numbers. count boxes of candy hearts and answer your choice of math questions. This is a similar lesson to Lesson 1 so that you can focus on specific similar skills. For example: during lesson 1, students can work on number combinations to 5. During lesson 2, students can work on number combinations to 10.
- Lesson 3 - Meteorologist Math: Students are meteorologists who will be giving a 5 or 10 day weather forecast (teacher choice) They are given 2 kinds of weather that will occur over the next 5 or 10 days. They have to figure out how many days of each kind of weather they'll have. Then, they organize it on a recording sheet and report the weather using a number combination/addition format. For example: "We will have 2 sunny days and 3 rainy days. That's the weather for 5 days. 2+3=5."
