Instead of progressing through the times table one number at a time (all the 1s, all the 2s, all the 3s, etc), the program mixes presents the sets based on difficulty of the problem. Easier math facts are presented earlier in the program in order to grow the students' confidence and create momentum for learning the more difficult facts.

It is assumed that the students have mastered multiplication by 1 and that the students understand the communicative property.
