🏀 March Madness Double-Digit Addition Center

Build-the-Answer Basketball Math!

Bring the excitement of March Madness into your math block with this engaging, hands-on double-digit addition center!

Students solve vertical addition problems and build their answers using basketball digit pieces on the hoop mat. This interactive format reinforces proper number alignment and place value understanding while keeping students motivated and focused.

This version focuses entirely on two-digit + one-digit addition with regrouping, giving students targeted practice with carrying while strengthening their place value skills.

To support regrouping, students can also use the included +1 regrouping basketballs to represent the carried ten when the ones place adds to more than ten. These visual markers help students clearly see and track the regrouping step while solving.
