Description

My middle school students loved this project where they got to use their creativity and create math board games! There is flexibility to assign your students any math topic and to choose the number of students working on each game (I used integer and rational number operations and I had students work with partners.) This is a great assessment project to do at the end of a unit or at the end of the year as a review. For some added fun I set up all of the board games around my classroom and let the students play their classmates' games!

Included are instructions, a student planning page, grading rubric, player survey for students to provide feedback on their classmates' games, and 9 student samples!

My students loved the variety to make a game as a review for end of year activity. Well laid out and good examples.

Students began with “ugh, another project!” but as we began, they had a blast! This was my favorite purchase! I used it as an EOY (After STAAR) Project. I even added more motivation by adding that projects all completed correctly will be used as stations for my next 7th grade group! I have so many free resources now! So many fun, TEKS aimed, and all student-created games to use in my class! I told them as long as I am teaching 7th-grade math, students will be playing these games for years to come! This was very exciting for them!
