Description
Math Bowl is a new series that I have created to help keep your students "on a roll" in math! (Cheesy, I know!) In this activity, students compete against each other either individually or with a partner as they work to solve word problems. The objective of this game is for students to achieve a βstrikeβ (knock down all of the bowling pins). The best part about this resource is that it is self correcting!
This resource includes 10 Rational Number Operation task cards that students must work through. Answers are provided on the bowling pins for students to cross out (aka "knock down") as they solve each problem. The first team that achieves a strike is the winner.

CCSS7.NS.A.2
Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication and division and of fractions to multiply and divide rational numbers.
CCSS7.NS.A.2a
Understand that multiplication is extended from fractions to rational numbers by requiring that operations continue to satisfy the properties of operations, particularly the distributive property, leading to products such as (β1)(β1) = 1 and the rules for multiplying signed numbers. Interpret products of rational numbers by describing real-world contexts.
CCSS7.NS.A.2b
Understand that integers can be divided, provided that the divisor is not zero, and every quotient of integers (with non-zero divisor) is a rational number. If π± and π² are integers, then β(π±/π²) = (βπ±)/π² = π±/(βπ²). Interpret quotients of rational numbers by describing real-world contexts.
