Description

This Math unit comprises numeral cards, worksheets for skill practice / evaluation, answer keys, and a game. The worksheets are colored for the teacher (to laminate/slip inside a plastic sheet protector, use a dry erase marker to fill in) and blackline for the students. The numeral cards can be cut, laminated and displayed on a bulletin board or used in Math Center activities such as games (Memory Game, etc).

The Math activities in this unit support the development of the following concepts:

Patterns; reading and writing numerals to 20; representing a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20; the relationship between numbers and quantities; the connection of counting to cardinality; counting to find how many things 1-20; the two digits of a two-digit number represent amounts of tens and ones; counting forwards to 20; skip counting to 20; counting backwards from 20; addition and subtraction within 20 using objects or drawings; addition strategy of counting on; the meaning of the plus, minus and equal signs; commutative property of addition (3+5=5+3); decompose numbers 1-20 and record with equations (8=5+3 and 8=10-2).

The bee theme adds an element of fun.
