Description

This unit includes four math center activities to welcome the springtime after the chilly winter.

Included are:

- 3 pages of finding area & perimeter cards
- 3 pages of fractions (halves to eighths)
- 2 pages of 3 & 4 digit (mostly 3 digit) number cards- 18 total
- 3 pages of priced items (18 total) to help kids practice adding & subtracting money while shopping for gardening supplies
- 4 student worksheets with directions (finding permieter & area, drawing and writing a fraction, adding and subtracting multi-digit numbers, and adding money and making change)
- teacher directions

Great to practice a wide range of math work during these warmer springtime months.

This unit addresses the following 3rd Grade Common Core State Standards:
- CCSS.Math.Content.3.NF.A.1 Understand a fraction 1/b as the quantity formed by 1 part when a whole is partitioned into b equal parts; understand a fraction a/b as the quantity formed by a parts of size 1/b.
- CCSS.Math.Content.3.NBT.A.2 Fluently add and subtract within 1000 using strategies and algorithms based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction.
- CCSS.Math.Content.3.MD.C.7 Relate area to the operations of multiplication and addition.
- CCSS.Math.Content.3.MD.D.8 Solve real world and mathematical problems involving perimeters of polygons, including finding the perimeter given the side lengths, finding an unknown side length, and exhibiting rectangles with the same perimeter and different areas or with the same area and different perimeters.
