Description
Make math review more fun with CRYPTOGRAMS!
For those who haven't experienced cryptograms before, a cryptogram is a message that has been translated into nonsense- that can mean numbers, shapes, animal pictures, and in this case EQUATIONS!
Have your students solve the fraction addition problems, remembering to simplify the answers. This will give the student a fraction (answer) that corresponds to a letter.
For example, if it says "A = 1/4 + 1/4" then A = 1/2. The student would then write the letter in on the line below the corresponding answer. Using our example, the student would write a capital letter "A" under the fraction "1/2".
The student will keep going, solving problems and filling corresponding letters in below the appropriate answers, until the spaces are completely filled in.
The result will be that the students will get the answer to the riddle!
***SPOILER ALERT***
In this the answer is "IT WAVES".
