Data isn't cool unless it's useful! In my second grade classroom I get my best snapshot into learning by using the student's pretest as a jumping off data point. This data tracker stays right by my side as I check pretests and take notes on which students will need what throughout the unit. it also helps me group the students based on need and helps me decide of which centers will be most useful to the class as a whole during math workshop. I hope you you will find this math data tracker useful in your classroom!
* Prep: I preprint each form at the beginning of the year. The tabs are extremely useful when finding specific students. The cutting only takes about 5 minutes per unit. I use white paper and brightly colored markers to write students names on tabs.
