Description

This is part of a foolproof system for helping students develop fact fluency. It is research-based and developed on how the brain learns. This system is perfect for 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 4th grade learners, as well as older children who are still working toward mastery.

This system contains research-based, brain-friendly, color-coordinated, and fact-family-coordinated practice cards and assessments for building fact fluency with multiplication and division!

Why use Fact Fluency Practice Activities and Assessments Level Seven? After practicing facts with minimal success, I’ve done my research and developed a recommended order in which the facts should be taught. The key? Teach with fact families together, but with one concept at a time. Brain Research tells us that making connections to prior knowledge helps students remember information. It also teaches us that brains remember best using color, movement, and visuals.

How it works: This set has everything you need to help your students master multiplication and division fact families with x3 and squares families, in research-based, brain-friendly ways. Plus, there are color-coded assessments for every step along the way.

What's included: This resource has 20 practice cards, both in color and black and white for easy printing. It also has answers to print on the back for accurate practice. It also includes 2 different assessments (color and black and white) along with the answer keys. Plus, there's a review assessment of all levels covered so far.

Note: Unfortunately, this fluency system no longer includes the accompanying Boom Learning digital task cards. If you have purchased this in the past, please redeem these at Boom Learning ASAP. I have lowered the price of each level, as well as the bundle, and the digital cards are still available on Boom Learning HERE.

Apply properties of operations as strategies to multiply and divide. Examples: If 6 × 4 = 24 is known, then 4 × 6 = 24 is also known. (Commutative property of multiplication.) 3 × 5 × 2 can be found by 3 × 5 = 15, then 15 × 2 = 30, or by 5 × 2 = 10, then 3 × 10 = 30. (Associative property of multiplication.) Knowing that 8 × 5 = 40 and 8 × 2 = 16, one can find 8 × 7 as 8 × (5 + 2) = (8 × 5) + (8 × 2) = 40 + 16 = 56. (Distributive property.)
Understand division as an unknown-factor problem. For example, find 32 ÷ 8 by finding the number that makes 32 when multiplied by 8.
Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.
