One of the biggest gifts I can give my students is helping them foster proficient basic fact knowledge. Even as a fifth grade teacher, I find that my students need constant review to ensure they know their facts through quick recall. I give students a 50 question quiz and allow 3 minutes to complete the questions. (If I was doing this with 3rd or 4th grade, I would allow 5 minutes.) The students must score a 100% to achieve mastery. This is the students' recording sheet. After they meet their goal, they can earn a reward, like a pencil or candy. We begin a new goal sheet each quarter.
