Math Fast Facts! Perfect for middle school math or high school math classes!

Challenge your students to pick a card - and simplify the radical! Some are whole numbers simplified, while most are not! The radicals included are:

Square root of: 1, 4, 8, 9, 12, 16, 18, 20, 24, 25, 27, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 45, 48, 49, 52, 56, 60, 63, 64, 68, 72, 75, 76, 80, 81, 84, 88, 90, 92, 96, 98, 99, 100, 104, 108.

Greet your students at the door with these math fast facts! Or use these as the perfect flash card activity or exit ticket! The answer key is directly on the back of each card for quick self-checking.

With 40 cards to choose from, students can look through the tables and graphs to see which problem they can solve quickly.

Here is how I use this resource:

  • I printed the cards double-sided onto cardstock. Each card is 2.4” by 3.1”.
  • The cards are sorted in a pocket chart (I am using an old calendar pocket chart from Carson Dellosa) which is hanging on my classroom door. The one I use can be found here: Carson Dellosa Calendar Pocket Chart
  • I stand outside by my classroom door and as students walk over to enter the room - I ask them to pick a card to tell me the answer. Students can self-check on the back of each card.
  • As students answer correctly, they hand the card to me as their ticket to enter the classroom.
  • If students get a problem wrong, I either teach them how they were supposed to find the fast fact, or encourage them to pick another card.
  • All cards are sorted back into the pocket chart to be ready for the next class that comes in.
  • Another option is to have students put the card back into the pocket chart after it is answered.
