File Folder Activities are a great way to reinforce concepts learned. After assembling, laminate the file folder and pieces so students can use them over and over again.

For one activity, students will decompose the number shown into tens and ones, and for the second activity they will choose a number card and use red and yellow counters to decompose that amount onto the 10-frames. A recording sheet is included for students to write down the different ways they decomposed numbers 11-20.

Please note, you do not need to make these products into file folder activities. You can laminate the pages and use them as work mats. Whether used as a file folder activity or a work mat, these products work best when they are laminated and Velcro is used for students to secure the pieces.
