Description
Grade 5 teachers!!! This new resource follows the new (2020) Ontario Math Curriculum on Financial Literacy. Specific expectation F1.5 under Consumer and Civic Awareness.
Complement your Math instruction with this junior level Financial Literacy resource that mirrors my Google Slides™ version.
Students will be assessed on their ability to calculate unit rates for various goods and services, and identify which rates offer the best value.
Students will learn that at times it is easy to find the best rate when a quantity is the same for each, but more often, you will need to find the unit rate when all four quantities, from two rates, are different.
They will have various assessments throughout this resource to work on their mastery of the topic.
This resource offers an excellent opportunity for both Canadian and American students to practice their understanding of unit rates in "real-world" shopping scenarios.
