💪 Tug of War

Decide on a target number. Each time a player rolls that number, they move the game piece one space toward their home base.

The first player to reach home base wins!

Variations:

⭐ Roll 1 die to practice subitizing.

⭐ Roll 2 dice to find a specific sum.

⭐ Roll 2 dice to multiply for a target product.

❌⭕ Tic-Tac-Toe Dice

Be the first to cross off 4 down or 3 across!

Use two dice and two game boards.

On your turn, roll two dice and either:

🎲 Cross out the sum, or

🎲 Cross out the two addends you rolled.

Example: Roll a 6 and 1 → cross out 7 or 6 and 1.

Play continues until someone gets Tic-Tac-Toe.

🏆 The winner earns an O for that round; the opponent adds up their uncrossed numbers for their score.

After 3 rounds, the lowest score wins!

🏠 Get Out of My House

Be the first to get rid of all 5 tokens using addition or subtraction!

Players flip 2 cards and create an equation that matches a number in the “house.”

  • If the spot is blank, place your token.
  • If it’s taken, shout “Get out of my house!” and replace your opponent’s token!

The first player to remove all tokens wins!

🐷 Pig Dice Game

Be the first to reach 100 points!

How to Play: Roll one die. Add your roll to your turn score. Roll again or hold to keep your points. If you roll a 1, you lose your turn points!

The first player to 100 wins.

💥 Knockout

On your turn, roll both dice and add the two numbers.

Cross off the total on your board.

The first player to cross off all numbers wins!

🎳 Ten Pin Bowling

Roll a die and knock down the pins!

Roll again and repeat.

But watch out — if you roll a 6, that’s a gutter ball, and you score 0 pins for that round!

Keep bowling until the board is finished.

The player with the highest total score wins!

🔁 Back and Forth

Place the game piece on the star to start.

Players take turns rolling the dice and moving the piece toward their finish line.

Then the opponent rolls and moves it back toward their finish line.

The first player to cross the finish line wins!

Variation:

Make the game board longer and multiply the dice to move that many spaces.

✨ Perfect For:

✅ Math centers & small groups

✅ Early finishers

✅ Partner games

✅ Family math nights

✅ Skill review & fluency practice

These seven engaging math games are low-prep, easy to differentiate, and guaranteed to get your students excited about learning math!
