Description

More than just a lap book, this interactive notebook, or journal will have your students asking to use it as a resource and have fun creating it. Use the flipbooks and activities for any instructional setting and learner. This hands-on interactive math lap book for primary grades is perfect for applying their knowledge and understanding of computation, data and tally marks, graphing, 2-D and 3-D shapes, time, and fractions. Included with the lap book's materials are differentiated charts, ten frames, and 400 flashcards.

There are 68 pages of differentiated lap book materials for your kiddos to assemble, practice, and express their understanding of math concepts. Time is displayed with an analog and digital clock, graphing is completed by collecting data with tally marks on the "use again" paper (slide a sheet protector over the page and use a dry erase marker), and computation is mastered using the 400 flashcards, 100 or 120 charts, and ten frames. There are resources to remind kiddos about number forms, place value charts, base ten references, and more. This packed lap book will help take your kiddos' understanding to a new level with all the hands-on activities.

Suggested Uses:

Money

•using real coins, create rubbings of the front and back to have a realistic look

•Using a separate piece of paper, apply money knowledge by using combinations of money to equal grocery items from a list written by the child

•Choose coupons and create different combinations of the total amount

•Combine coupons to create larger totals and display an understanding of adding money

•Complete the opposite of the above, use subtraction

Time

•Create a schedule of a day and discuss the time lapse

•Create a schedule of a book character and relate it to the retelling of the story

•Practice time-lapse and understanding

•Addition and Subtraction

•Flashcard fluency-master each level by being able to answer all the facts in a number set

•Show understanding by using different ways to compute the problem

•Skip counting practice, number understanding using a 100 or 120 chart

Fractions

•Create a flipbook by writing what the know in the spaces provided on each of the fraction pages (whole, quarter, third, half)

•Use magazine clips of fractions to show real-life connections

Shapes 2D and 3D

•Write the name of the shape of the front, and the details and facts of the shape on the inside.

•Use magazine clips of shapes to show real-life connections

Graphing

•Use the graph with any kind of unit and data
