Mental Math Subtraction Strategies (#’s to 18)

This packet contains 9 mental math subtraction strategies, perfect for math interactive notebooks. Each strategy is introduced within a flap. Underneath, the student has the chance 
to practice the strategy.

2D & 3D Shapes
:

This 9 page resource covers all the basic shapes, in a form that can be put into the students math journal. This also includes a rubric for the student to do at the end of your shape unit.

2D shapes: circle, triangle, rectangle, square, pentagon, hexagon, star and heart.


- 3D shapes: sphere, pyramid, rectangular prism, cube, cylinder, pentagonal prism and cone.

It is in the form of a flap book. Strategy on one side, practice questions are under the flap. 8 strategies are introduced for 2-digit addition.

This resource was intended to be used as a reminder of the types of subtraction strategies students could use to solve equations for 2-digit numbers. It is in the form of a flap book. Strategy on one side, practice questions are under the flap. 6 strategies are introduced for 2-digit subtraction.
