Description

This product contains a 5th grade math standards checklist as well as mini quizzes and answer keys. The mini quizzes are used to see which students have mastered each standard and can pass it off.

This can be used a variety of ways. I like to have aides or parent volunteers help me with this. If a student gets all the questions correct on a quiz, I have them mark it off on their standards checklist. I created two versions of the mini quizzes (A & B). One version can be used to reteach, retest, etc. I only require my students to get 100% on one or the other to pass it off on their checklist.

I find it easiest to organize these in a binder in sheet protectors. This makes it reusable when students use expo markers on them. I organize the mini quizzes in the order I teach math.

This product comes with the PDF version as well as an editable version.

Here are the learning objectives listed on the standards checklist:

  • I can simplify numerical expressions using the order of operations.
  • I can evaluate expressions containing variables.
  • I can read and graph ordered pairs.

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Convert among different-sized standard measurement units within a given measurement system (e.g., convert 5 cm to 0.05 m), and use these conversions in solving multi-step, real world problems.
Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Use operations on fractions for this grade to solve problems involving information presented in line plots. For example, given different measurements of liquid in identical beakers, find the amount of liquid each beaker would contain if the total amount in all the beakers were redistributed equally.
Recognize volume as an attribute of solid figures and understand concepts of volume measurement.
