Math Journal Prompts
My essential questions get your students explaining why they solve problems that way or helping them describe how to solve problems. Also, it encourages them to see math outside your classroom walls.
In my class, I choose one question on the page, they free write for 5 minutes while I take attendance then at the end of the week I check their writing.
Hope you enjoy!

Great value
This was a great math warm up when I taught grade 5/6!
These were an easy way for my students to write about math concepts while learning the importance of being able to show their work/discuss their understanding.
Love the activity
Thanks so much!

Thanks so much!
My students also take a Writing standardized test this year and our Writing teacher loves that I am having them write about Math. I often give their samples to her and revise and edit in her class and send me the final draft. Great for cross subject collaboration!!!
Thanks so much!
