I am so excited about using this math rubric in my classroom. It is so important to me that I am well aware of my students' thinking and how they are responding in your math journals.This tool allows me to do just that.

Also, I feel that it is a good practice for the students themselves to reflect on their work. It helps them with accountability.

FYI...I staple the student self-assessment checklist on top of the teacher rubric and send it home with the kiddos. I feel that it so important the parents are well informed as to how their children are doing.
