Use anytime for ...
- a refresher of math skills
- For early finishers
- Class/small group activity
- Distance learning
- “Fun Friday’s”
I personally used this choice board with my own students many times as a “Fun Friday” Math practice activity and did this a lot during distance learning.
Differentiation: There are a variety of activities that range from low level to high level (ie. Addition through to division, or ordering vs comparing fractions, games which you can choose your levels) which allow for differentiation as students can select which levels and areas they need to practice.
Duration:
The suggested time on the board depends on your students’ ages and abilities. Students can easily be assigned about 40 minutes (give or take 10 minutes per topic). However, students have so much fun interacting with the activities they often revisit the board again on their own time. So this choice board can even be repeated throughout future weeks as well. You even have the option to edit out many of the links, which also makes it great for long term use.
Editable Sections:
You ARE able to edit:
- Guideline of how many choices you would like students to make (centre of the main board)
- Math Music images and links
- Math Stories images and links
- Math Virtual Games images and links
- Math Skill Building image and link
- Math Art image and link
- Math Exercise image and link
- Math Tools image and link
- Math Mania Exit Ticket (Google Form)
You are NOT able to edit:
- Titles & Instructions (though general enough)
- Clip Art on Main Board & Math Family Games
Download File Options Available:
- Google Slides
- Powerpoint
To share with students there are many options:
- in Google Classroom as material or an assignment (instructions provided)
- through the PDF/Google Slides files on a class site
- as a class/in small groups using the powerpoint version
I know my students loved when we did this choice board, and shared how it was one of the memorable activities during distance learning. So I would be so glad to hear about you and your students’ experience using this interactive board.
