This Math Menu negates the need for different math homework each night, or weekly – or use this menu for centres or bellringer work! Remove the fuss and stress that comes with scheduling and creating math homework/lesson starters with this Math Menu! Students get to pick which general math skills to practice from this fun Math Menu.

Single-sided Math Menu with 19 project options. Students need to “spend” $100 (or whatever amount you set) on the menu for weekly homework. Items on the menu are priced from $10 to $30, where $10 items are easier to complete. The menu is split into Entrée, Main Dish and Dessert – students are prompted to choose at least one from each set and to “taste” other dishes as the weeks go by. Projects include multiplication, addition, subtraction, graphing, decimals, research, frequency, algebra and more.
Here's an example project from the choice board menu:
Mysterious Measurements $30
Pick a random famous person. Estimate their height, weight, shoe size, hand span and something else about them that is measurable. Justify why your estimates are reasonable.
✂ Teacher Preparation Instructions
Simply print and distribute! You will need to explicitly taught the general math skills students are expected to perform, and a system set up for checking homework has been completed, for best results.
✂ Suggestions for Use in the Classroom
Model the responses you’d like for each of the menu items by introducing each menu item in class for the first week before assigning the menu as homework.
