This product was created to help students practice to add up to four two-digit numbers using strategies based on place value and the properties of operations.

This product includes teacher instructions for the math activity, student recording sheet, guided practice sheet, and an independent sheet that can be used as an assessment. This activity helps students to practice adding up to four two digit numbers. Although this activity does not include regrouping, it can be adjusted easily to meet the needs of any classroom. It may also be adjusted for practicing addition of smaller numbers as well.

Students also practice using base ten blocks and identifying shapes in this engaging activity. The guided practice may involve students working in a group that helps to build social and language skills through working collaboratively with others.

The only additional materials needed for this activity are base ten blocks and small paper bags.

I was trying to think of a fun way to incorporate a few different math concepts into a fun activity...and to be honest, I had run out of ways to teach adding two digit numbers!
