Description

Patterns are everywhere, and helping students recognize, understand, and create math patterns is an essential skill for early algebra and number sense. This comprehensive patterning and number patterns resource teaches students to identify repeating, growing, shrinking, and number patterns while building strong pattern recognition skills.

With hands-on pattern activities, anchor charts, and guided digital lessons, students progress from visual observations to numerical rules, building strong patterning skills and early algebra reasoning along the way. Perfect for grades 2–4 math centers, small groups, or whole-class lessons.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

Interactive Digital Lesson Slides
This resource includes five ready-to-teach digital lessons that follow a “See It → Name It → Build It” sequence to keep students engaged and reinforce learning.

  • Patterns Are Everywhere: Introduce real-world patterns with nature photos to help students recognize patterns in their environment.
  • Repeating Patterns: Explore common patterns such as AB, ABC, ABBA, and learn to identify the core and pattern coding.
  • Growing Patterns: Teach increasing patterns and the plus rule.
  • Shrinking Patterns: Teach decreasing patterns and the minus rule.
  • Number Patterns: Practice skip counting, hundreds chart exercises, and early algebra reasoning.

Print Activities and Worksheets
Includes 12 worksheets and independent practice activities to reinforce every lesson.

  • Covers all five pattern types: repeating, growing, shrinking, number, and real-world patterns.
  • Full-color and ink-saving black & white options.
  • Includes full answer keys for quick, stress-free grading.

Anchor Charts And Vocabulary Cards
