This is a math modeling spin on the classic Pictionary game. This game can be used to help students model their thinking when solving subtraction problems. One player pulls an equation card and must model the equation without writing it. They can use pictures, open number lines, base ten blocks or drawings, cubes, etc. Activity rules are included in the download. There are five sets of cards depending on ability level.

  • subtraction within 10
  • subtracting within 20
  • subtraction within 100- no regrouping
  • subtraction within 100-regrouping
  • subtraction within 100-mixed
