This is a great supplement for teaching math problem solving in your classroom. It will go great with your classroom camping theme! Included are six 8 1/2 x 11 problem solving strategy posters, 6 3x4 problem solving strategy cards, camping themed Math Buddy Chat prompt cards and 15 camping themed story problems. Many of the problems are open ended or require students to create the story problem themselves. Each story problem has an iPad technology piece included to increase the DOK (Depth of Knowledge) level to a 2 or 3. Have students solve the problems with their math buddy and then discuss them with the whole group. Post student work beneath the strategy posters so your students have a reminder of the different strategies they can use while problem solving. These math problem solving problems can be done whole group or as an independent workstation when your little ones are ready to head out on their own.
