Description
This activity was designed to enhance math skills by allowing the students to use their design skills to create a fictitious store mini catalog.
After the teacher has taught a basic math unit on figuring discounts percentages, the students can be instructed on an project for more independent practice. Also included is a discount worksheet to let the students practice. After this worksheet is complete, the teacher can easily incorporate this creative thinking activity by allowing the students to design a store catalog which incorporates different discount amounts.
This activity gives the students the opportunity to break away from traditional learning and lecture. This assignment is fun and they can let their creative juices flow by picking any type of store they would like to design. This activity can be used as an in-class assignment or homework assignment. The choice is yours.
