Description
This practice activity includes 20 multi-step math word problems for upper elementary as well as an editable blank template to fill in your own problems. Students read the problem, visualize the "scene" and draw it, then use their picture to solve.
I created this activity as a way to integrate my students' love of drawing into math. Often, they ignore the context of real world word problems and, therefore, struggle when it comes to knowing how to solve the problem. This is what makes multi-step word problems especially challenging. This activity increases problem solving skills. It's a great go to activity for early finishers.
