Having a hard time getting students to use a Claim, Evidence and Reasoning in their Math and Science Constructive response questions? I used this in my classroom with my students and it made a tremendous difference in the quality of their responses. I made large posters for the classroom and each child a card stock copy (bookmark ) of the sentence stems to keep in their personal binders. Students used the “bookmarks” for in class questions and on weekly assessments for a phenomenal improvement in their thinking and explaining of their thoughts.
