How I use them as an entrance slip for my 4th grade class:
- Pick a slide that has previously been taught and display it on your board
- Student enter the class and set their things down at their seat.
***I have an entrance slip station. It's on one of my shelves near my door.*** - Students will then go to the station to write their answer to the question that is displayed on the board on a small scrap paper and place it in a small tin bucket I have specifically for entrance slip answers.
- Then just before starting the new lesson, we discuss the entrance slip problem and its answer.
This will awaken student's prior knowledge and allow them to start class by using and recalling what they've previously learned.
After the discussion we recite our multiplication faces one set per week.
