Description

This is a sorting center for sorting practice with counting bears - by color or size - and allows for you to either use your own set of counting bears or the printable counting bears I have provided for you.

Each sorting category has a card with several pictorial examples and a card with just one, allowing for you to differentiate your center instruction.

This activity is suitable for small groups or one individual child.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

  • Print the activity mats on card stock and laminate. They will fit dollar store trays, cookie sheets (add magnet tape to the back of the printed bears for extra fun) or just use them on their own. You can also provide students with a plastic tray or cookie sheet sectioned off with washi tape.
  • Print sorting cards out on card stock and laminate, and attach them using a binder ring for longterm use in the center.
  • Print out, cut and laminate the counting bears. Print out as many sheets as you wish! Add magnet tape as described above if desired.

This counting bear math sorting center comes with:

  • 1 3" x 5" instruction card
  • 1 3" x 5" cover card
  • 9 3"x 5" sorting cards (2 different attributes, differentiated to add colors)
  • 6 sorting mats (2 each of 4 sections, 6 sections and 8 sections)
  • 120 printable bear counters to sort (small, medium and large in red, blue, green, yellow, purple, orange, pink and brown.)

Use this sorting activity as:

  • a math center
  • for early finishers with a partner
  • an assessment
  • a cooperative game
