Description

CUBES is a well-known and effective acronym to remind students of the steps to solving math word problems. In this product, the letters stand for:

C: Circle important numbers

U: Underline the question you need to answer

B: Box key math words

E: Evaluate and eliminate unneccesary information

S: Solve and double-check your work

The pages in this pack are especially effective for English Language Learners (ELLs) as they are learning and applying the complex language of mathematics. The organizers draw special attention to important verbs and key words in math stories that will help budding mathematicians identify the correct operations needed when solving math word problems.

The CUBES method is what I use. Their are a lot of resources available, but I chose this one because the layout, colors, and style was spot on to what I was looking for!
