Children can explore math symbols when they build them with pattern blocks. The building mats display each symbol along with the pattern blocks that will be needed to build that shape.

Each of the symbols has three mats. Each mat displays the number in a different way. The first way the letter is presented is with colored pattern blocks. The second way features the outline of the pattern blocks. Finally, only a silhouette of the displayed. Children will have to figure out how to combine the shapes to build the letter.
