This file includes a fun 2D Geometry activity and puzzle game that students enjoy. The objective of the activity is to read out various clues about geometrical properties and try to figure out which shape the clues are referring to. After each clue, students use a process of elimination strategy to narrow down their answer to fewer shapes. The file includes a detailed answer sheet (one blank one for students and an answer key) to help students keep track of their progress as they start figuring out the clues.

This activity touches on all of the geometrical properties of various polygons. The task cards also include all sorts of shapes, including non polygons and irregular polygons.

Students can either do this activity in pairs or by themselves at a Math Center. Once you introduce this activity in class, students can also create their own puzzle to share with the class. All they have to do is choose 4 or 5 shapes and come up with as many clues as they wish to share, provided their clues only lead to one answer.

This activity can be modified for various grade levels.
