Description
This resource is a great way to check your students’ understanding of converting metric measurements These task cards can be used as a diagnostic tool or as a check for understanding. Students answer the question on the task card by recording the correct response on their answer sheet. Task cards can be placed around your classroom to get students moving. Students can work independently or in pairs/small groups to complete each task. An answer sheet is provided.
This resource includes:
1. Reference Sheets: Reference sheets are included on the metric conversion chart for length, mass and capacity (Canadian/British spelling and American spelling are included).
2. Minds-on Tasks: Two different tasks are included. Students will solve a word problem by converting measurements to the same unit. These can be used before starting the task cards as an introduction to the task. It can also be used at the end of the task as an assessment tool.
3. 24 Task cards: I like to hang them around the classroom to get students moving. Students can complete the cards in any order.
4. Answer recording sheet: Students can record their answer on the corresponding recording sheet.
5. Answers: A completed recording sheet as well as a copy of the minds-on tasks with the answers is provided.
