Description

These fun math task cards are intended to provide additional practice and review during the school year. If you can get students to enjoy solving math problems, then you have won the battle.Let them complete one or 2 cards a day, and eventually they will be asking for this activity. (It seems to work for me).

This zip file includes 3 formats of cards. One with color-coding, one with fun graphics (as shown in thumbnails and preview), and one save ink version. It is easy to know activity/question from answer to activity/question by the matching pictues, the color coding or the border color on the save ink version. The fun pics on each card make learning simple.

Print as one or two-sided (question on front-answer on back) depending on how you use the cards. If you print on heavy paper or card stock and laminate them, you will have them forever.

Math topics include:

basic operations

fractions-adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, simplifying

measurement

data analysis

order of operations

basic geometry

It's great to hear that the idea works for you. I started using them when students became bored with the same old worksheets and I thought that they may be a great idea for summer. So glad you we're thinking along the same lines. My email address is modonnelly@comcast.net so email me with your free product choice, and I will send it to you.

Know relative sizes of measurement units within one system of units including km, m, cm; kg, g; lb, oz.; l, ml; hr, min, sec. Within a single system of measurement, express measurements in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Record measurement equivalents in a two-column table. For example, know that 1 ft is 12 times as long as 1 in. Express the length of a 4 ft snake as 48 in. Generate a conversion table for feet and inches listing the number pairs (1, 12), (2, 24), (3, 36),...
Use the four operations to solve word problems involving distances, intervals of time, liquid volumes, masses of objects, and money, including problems involving simple fractions or decimals, and problems that require expressing measurements given in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Represent measurement quantities using diagrams such as number line diagrams that feature a measurement scale.
Convert among different-sized standard measurement units within a given measurement system (e.g., convert 5 cm to 0.05 m), and use these conversions in solving multi-step, real world problems.
