It is always helpful to establish a strong positive working relationship with parents. Keeping parents informed and up to date is vital. One of the methods I've used successfully is a weekly report which is sent home with each student at the end of the week to be signed and returned the following Monday. I used the reports for math students but they can be adapted for any subject. The reward for the student is a Math Buck (one of my TPT FREE products). If a student fails to return the signed portion, I charge them a Math Buck and make a phone call home. Note: the symbols save time filling out the reports.
