Description
Work Smarter, Not Harder! With this template there are No Excuses because Differentiating is Easy!
This Resource Combines Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) and Depth and Complexity Icons to reach all your students including Gifted Learners and English Learners.
Here's How it Works:
1.Choose Word Problem Template!
2.Insert text box and add one word problem but leave out the numbers, leave them blank.
3.Differentiate by leveling the difficulty of the number choices below (i.e. approaching, meeting, exceeding options)
4.Students input their numbers based on ability.
5.Students read the word problem and decide what important details will help them solve the problem and decide which question (sometimes more than one) need to be answered.
6.Students solve the problem using any strategy or a taught strategy in the PROCESS box.
7.Students then check their answer in the PROOF box either using another strategy or opposite operations.
8.Students write their answer in a complete sentence.
EXTENTION
When students are done with the front page have them flip the page and have them choose the next set of numbers and try it using the same strategies. If they are already exceeding and working with the highest set they can write out and explain how they solved the problem using words in the MAIN IDEA section –OR- they can create and solve their own word problem.
