Great Resource for Building Problem-Solving Skills! This set of math word problems is perfect for helping students strengthen their addition and subtraction skills within 20. The focus on single-step problems and missing addends makes it an excellent resource for developing number sense and critical thinking. I love how the problems are clearly written and age-appropriate. They encourage students to slow down, read carefully, and think through what’s being asked—not just compute. It’s a great way to reinforce both math and reading comprehension at the same time. These activities work well for independent practice, small groups, or homework. They also make great exit tickets or quick checks for understanding. Well-organized, no-prep, and super effective—highly recommend for grades 1–2 or as intervention support in later grades!
