"These were great for some of my upper elementary students who struggle with word problems. We did station rotations with them so they didn't have too many at once to answer. They did great and worked well together. "

Description

These simple word problem task cards are perfect for your kiddos to practice deciding which operation to use. I use these ALL THE TIME in my special education classroom!

There are 3 different options for you to choose from. The first option has the student choosing whether the word problem is addition or subtraction. The second option has the student choosing between multiplication and division. And the third option has the student choosing between all 4 operations.

There are over 200 word problems!

Very easy prep, just print, laminate, cut, and go!

For my lower students I read the word problem and they tell me the operation. They can answer by circling the correct operation, covering it with a manipulative, using a clothespin, or telling me with their words. The symbol and word are at the bottom of the card.

For my higher students they will read it to me, choose the operation, and solve the problem on the back!

I didn't want to make my own cards so this was a great resource. I am using it to have students tell me whether they need to add or subtract and not actually doing the calculation.

This resource is exactly what I needed! It was well-organized, easy to implement, and saved me so much prep time. The instructions were clear, and my students were highly engaged. I especially appreciated the thoughtful design and how it aligned with standards. Whether you're looking for something to reinforce a concept or enrich your current curriculum, this is a great addition to your teaching toolkit. Highly recommend!

This is exactly the kind of resource I was looking for and I will definitely continue to use it! However, there are MANY spelling errors and difficult to read names, which tends to make it difficult for my students to comprehend what they're reading and, in turn, choose the correct order of operations. Still a very useful resource!
