Description
Inside the bundle you will find the following:
- 6x Cheat Sheets (how to convert from one unit to another)
- 6x Conversion Bingo boards (these can be laminated and drawn on with dry erase markers)
- 6x sets of 25 playing cards (conversions to work out and then find on the game board)
How to play:
This game is centred around the learners and does not require any help from the teacher.
- This game can be done in 6 different groups or less (I have included 6 different colour game boards to differentiate between groups)
- Each group must receive: 1x Cheat Sheet, 1x game board and 25x playing cards
- The aim of the game is to complete the full board of conversions
- Before a group is deemed the 'winner', the teacher must go through theit playing cards and ensure that their calculations are correct and that they correlate with the numbers on the game board
- The first group to shout 'Bingo!' is the winning team (after being confirmed by the teacher)
This game gets all learners in the class involved and participative. It requires learners to make use of their knowledge of converting units of measurements in order to correctly answer the sums and ultimately win the game. It encourages learners to work together in order to beat the competition (i.e. the other groups)! I hope your learners have as much fun with this game as mine did!
Tips for the teacher:
- The game is super easy to put together
- Print out the documents
- Cut them out using scissors or (if you're resourced enough) a paper trimmer/guillotine
- Laminate them... and you're ready to have some fun with Math!
