Mathematician Project - Algebra 2/Calculus/PreCalculus

Used it at the end of the school year for my AP Pre-Calc students after AP testing and it was a fun way to have them research what mathematicians did to contribute to the math world. They had lots of fun completing this project!

Since I teach at an all-girls school, I adapted this project to focus only on famous female mathematicians. Students created a poster wall as a tribute to women who helped shape the modern world—highlighting contributions like WiFi, pattern recognition, and more. They had to research the mathematician and explain how her work is still relevant today. It was a powerful way to celebrate women in STEM and show students that their future in these fields is both possible and impactful. Loved it!
