Maths Warm-up Game Template: Risk or Regret

Description

This fun and engaging maths game can be modified to suit diverse learning abilities. Students can work in pairs, groups or as a whole class. Increase the challenge by introducing subtraction, division or multiplication.

Number Sense: Addition

Objective:

Achieve the highest total score

Materials needed:

1. One six sided die per group

2. One (laminated) game board for each player

3. White board markers

How to play:

1. Players start at the top right cell and work their way down the rows.

2. Take turns to roll the die and call out the number rolled. Each player writes that number down on any of the cells in the given row.

3. Once all the cells in a row are filled, move down to the next row until the entire grid is filled.

4. All players calculate individual total sum and player with the highest score wins the game!
