A powerpoint + guided worksheet for students to explore the relationship between foot length and height.

In this activity, students will collect data, construct scatter plots, formulate an equation and use functions to make a prediction!

The PowerPoint provided covers how mathematical modelling is used by forensic podiatrists as well as, an exploration of the line of best fit and linear equations.

Ideal for use with a JC mathematics or TY class.

Activity can be adapted for higher level leaving cert to include discussion on correlation, margin of error and percentage error.

Suitable for 1 x 1 hr long lesson or 2 x 40 min lessons
