Boom Cards offer an interactive, self-checking approach to practice a variety of skills. You can assign these Intro to Matrices Boom Cards to your students OR you can provide them with a Fast Play link (free version option).
CARD DESIGN:
Most of the decks I create incorporate different activities to keep students engaged, and this deck is no different. Card tasks are outlined below:
- Cards 1 – 4 require the student to correctly complete the sentence by filling in the blank (drag and drop)
- Cards 5 – 9 require the student to identify and state the dimensions of a matrix and identify an element (entry) in a matrix (fill-in-the-blank)
- Cards 10 – 12 require the student to add or subtract two matrices (multiple-choice
- Card 13 requires the student to determine if the given statement is true or false (multiple-choice)
- Cards 14 – 20 require the student to multiply a matrix by a scalar and add or subtract two matrices (fill-in-the-blank).
