Crittenden Report-Government report analyzing homosexuals in the military
In the early 1950's, Mattachine Society started to publish the magazine One, Inc. The magazine was geared toward educating homosexuals about their lives and challenged heterosexual views on homosexuality. Associates of the Mattachine would later establish the Daughters of Bilitis which advocated for lesbian rights and based their tactics on Mattachine. Eventually, the FBI investigated Mattachine which was founded after numerous gay men were kicked out of the military.
