Description
Measurement & Data -Geometry: Matching Angles {Math Center} 4.MD.5
(relating fractional parts of a circle to degrees)
This activity is a great way to allow students to relate fractional parts of a circle to degrees.
Included:
48 cards creating 24 matches
Students can play three different variations of the game:
(Memory Match) – small group math center
Students will flip all the cards upside down on a playing surface. Take turns flipping over two cards. When you have a match, keep it. Play continues until all cards have been taken. The student with the most cards wins the game.
(Quick Match ) – small group math center
You will need 2 sets of cards, 1 for each team of 2 players. Students place their set of cards in front of them face down until someone says “Go.” Then the teams race to see who can make the matches the fastest. Then they trade and check each others answers.
(Matching Angles Practice) – independent math center
Lay out all the cards with degrees on them. Then one at a time draw a fractional circle card and find the match. Continue until you have matched all the cards. Check your work.
