Description

Advanced English LitGuides provide a complete approach to advanced English instruction. This is one of 27 self-contained novel or play units that include a unit guide, lesson building strategies, support literature, plot/style quizzes, close-reading passages, AP style essays and tests, and examples of student work. Also included is a folder or folders of teaching strategies. These guides are available in .docx format so you can adapt them as you see fit.

I use the American poet Robinson Jeffers' freely adapted translation of Medea, classic tale of revenge and infanticide. There is an excellent film of the 1982 Broadway production.

I provide 6 close reading analyses, several AP essay prompts, a debate assignment, a group episode assignment, a group short essay test, a group "modern mock tragedy" assignment, quizzes, a comparison of translations, thematic support poetry, and lots of student samples.

The description says that it includes an answer key, but this is not the case. There are no answer keys for the close readings. It's a rather expensive resource, and I would not have bought it if I hadn't thought that there would be answer keys for the close readings.

Sorry. I have answer keys for quizzes and tests and student samples of many assignments. The close readings are very short passages for student analysis, usually as homework. It never occurred to me to supply an answer key. It would be easy to craft one from student responses.
